HauteWive's Bloggers

 Joana Kuznetsky

CEO, Editor in Chief, Main contributor and president of  "The HauteWives Fashion Group"

I attended A.I.U and majored in fashion design and marketing. Ive always loved sewing and designing. I currently have a small clothing line with promotional items, totes and aprons. You can find my stuff on www.Joanak.com.

Aside from studying and creating fashion Ive also worked backstage at some of the biggest fashion shows in Los Angeles as a Dresser and volunteer. I held a short internship at the cal-mart as a part of my universities "dressers club" activities. I gained much knowledge through that club and continue to apply the same methods I learned, to my current life and business.

I most recently did some work as a fashion columnist for a local magazine that took me on assignment to fashion week in LA. The magazine I was working for also asked me to blog about my design process for a dress. I ended up wearing the dress I made to the red carpet. You fan find more about that on my website. (under the about section in the portfolio link)

Aside from my small business and past experience, I like to try and stay on top of current trends. I dedicate at least 1 hour of my day to reading top fashion magazines and websites to stay current on whats in style. My favorite styles vary from ultra trendy and modern to sophisticated traditional glam. Though my blogs you can see I like to mix it up.

Laura Miles
(FORMER) Contributor and mind behind the name
"The HauteWives"

I am married to an amazing man, Alan, and we have two sons, 5 and 7.

I was born in Charleston, West Virginia. I attended The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio where I received my certificate in Audio Engineering and Music Production. I joined the United States Navy in 2002 to become a Builder in the U.S. Navy Seabee's. played with concrete and 2" x 4"'s for nine years. I served two tours in Naval Mobile Construction THREE and one tour at the 31st Seabee Readiness Group, both based in Ventura County, CA. I have been all over the world including two deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After a long day of Seabee work, I couldn't wait to get into my heels and ROCK. It was liberating and empowering. My nickname was "Builder Barbie". The guys would go grab beers after a concrete pour and I would head to Nordstrom to buy a pair of shoes. I became the go-to source on LadyDressing and so much more.

I separated from the Navy in September 2011 to pursue a career in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design. I have an eye for style and my passion is for every lady to explore their full potential thru design. I attend Oxnard Adult School's sewing course, I have learned so much already. I hope to transfer to CSUN next year to begin my journey into the fashion world.
